A popup window will appear with a list of connection settings. In the Name field, you can enter any name you like, such as StormStreaming Cloud next, you need to enter the link to your server in the RTMP URL and Stream Key fields. All these information can be found on the Summary page of Live Stream creator.

That's all regarding the configuration of the connection between XSplit Broadcaster and the Storm Streaming Cloud. Below the connection settings popup, you will also find the settings for the encoder itself. We have described the entire encoder configuration in a separate guide called "Stream & Encoder".

Encoder Setup

The encoder settings for XSplit can be found in the RTMP connection configuration. We need to either create a new connection or edit an existing one.

First thing we need to choose is the right encoder library. The recommended choice here is x264, but if you have a GeForce graphics card, you can try NVENC. The selection of the appropriate bitrate depends on the chosen resolution. Below is a quick reference guide:

ResolutionFPSRequired upload
1920x1080609 Mbit/s
1920x1080307 Mbit/s
1280x720607 Mbit/s
1280x720304,5 Mbit/s

More detailed settings are available under the gear icon. Clicking on it will bring up another popup. Here, set the Max Keyframe Interval to 1.0 and the Encoder Preset to ultrafast.
